The Magic Flute Child Soloists
Seattle Opera is auditioning children 12–17 years of age who have unchanged voices (treble voices only; any gender) for our mainstage production of The Magic Flute.
Performance dates:
February 22, 23, & 26, 2025
March 1, 2, 7, 8, & 9, 2025
(Seattle Opera mainstage production; sung in German)
Performers must have:
- Treble voice (any gender)
- Strong musical comprehension
- Ability to sing harmony independently
- Confident stage presence
- Due to production requirements, perfomers must be under 5'5" (5 feet 5 inches) in height.
Child soloists are paid positions via Principal Artist AGMA contracts. Child soloists offered contracts for The Magic Flute are required to join the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) union by their first rehearsal.
Residency within a 55-mile radius of Seattle Opera is expected.
Tosca Youth Chorus
Seattle Opera is auditioning children 9–16 years of age who have unchanged voices (treble voices only; any gender) for our mainstage production of Tosca.
Performance dates:
May 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 14, & 17, 2025
(Seattle Opera mainstage production; sung in Italian)
Performers must have:
- Treble voice (any gender)
- Musical comprehension
- Ability to sing harmony independently
- Good stage presence
- Due to production requirements, perfomers must be under 5'0" (5 feet) in height.
Youth chorus positions are volunteer positions. Parking and mileage reimbursement will be provided.
Residency within a 55-mile radius of Seattle Opera is expected.

- Monday, November 11, 2024: 6:00 PM–9:00 PM
- Tuesday, November 12, 2024: 6:00 PM–9:00 PM
- Wednesday, November 13, 2024: 6:00 PM–9:00 PM

Audition Requirements:
Please come prepared with one song, memorized, with piano, in any language.
No a cappella singing, and no belting songs. A pianist will be provided. Please bring your sheet music with you to your audition.
