Throughout the run of A Very Drunken Christmas Carol, Seattle Opera will be collecting donations in the lobby in partnership with the Refugee Women’s Alliance (ReWA) to support local Afghan refugee families.
Bring your donations to coat check when you see any of Seattle Opera’s performances of A Very Drunken Christmas Carol, December 9–18.

About the Drive
Due to the large influx of Afghan refugees arriving in the Puget Sound, the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) has contracted with ReWA to act as a resettlement agency, assisting 25 Afghan families find employment and housing; many are in the Low-Income Housing Institute’s (LIHI) new George Fleming Place in Othello. ReWA case managers are helping new arrivals with basic needs, including accessing public benefits (cash and food), enrolling in Apple Health, Emergency needs (food, clothing, diapers, etc), enrolling in school, and more.
