YOUTH OPERA PROJECT

Thursday Evenings and Saturday Mornings
October 3, 2024–February 2, 2025
Opera Center
Program Fee: $750, sliding scale available.

Beginning October 3, youth ages 7–18 will embark on an exciting adventure into the world of opera as they journey through the Sherwood Forest in this year's Youth Opera Project production of Robin Hood. The outlaw who steals from the rich to give to the poor and his Merry Band battle against the evil Sheriff of Nottingham and his loyal henchmen, and learn that by working together, they can save the community they call home. Based on the classic legend with music by Ben Moore and libretto by Kelley Rourke.

The program rehearses on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings from October through January and culminates in 4 public performances at the Opera Center the weekend of January 31–February 2. A more in-depth rehearsal and performance schedule will be sent closer to the start of the program.

This year, Seattle Opera is partnering with the national non-profit organization, ArtSmart, to provide free voice lessons for youth participants ages 10 and above for whom this presents a financial barrier.

Youth Opera Project is currently at capacity and registrations are now closed.
