Mary Elizabeth Williams—a Seattle favorite from the start of her career as a Seattle Opera Young Artist—offers selections from Berlioz’s Les Troyens, Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde, and Puccini’s Turandot in this recital. Memorable McCaw Hall moments include her command performance as Queen Elizabeth in Mary Stuart (2016), a thrilling "Vissi d’arte" performance from the 2015 Tosca, as well as a haunting rendition of “My Man’s Gone Now” from Porgy and Bess (2011). A crowd-pleaser on any stage, she is noted for her “passionate intensity and beautifully produced power” (The Seattle Times).
