Young Opera Audience members (Under 18)

Seattle Opera offers kid, teen, and family activities/performances for youth of all ages. Learn more about our programming to help decide what performance is best for the youth in your life.

Some operas contain adult themes. Before bringing children, make sure that the show is appropriate for their age or maturity level. Consider checking out our content advisories, reading a synopsis on our website, and check with our ticket office staff if you aren’t sure.

Children will get much more out of going to an opera if you prepare them ahead of time by telling them the story and playing them a little of the music. Please teach your children to be respectful audience members.

No children 3 and under and no babes in arms are allowed for mainstage productions at McCaw Hall.  Thank you for your cooperation.

GIFT CERTIFICATE PURCHASES

All gift certificate sales are final. Balances on gift certificates are not redeemable for cash. Gift certificates may only be redeemed for ticket purchases and are not available for use at Amusements or our online gift shop.

INCLEMENT WEATHER INFORMATION

First and foremost, your safety is our top priority. Seattle Opera wishes everyone safe travels to and from all Seattle Opera performances and events. Please be sure to make your travel plans based on what is safest for you. Seattle Opera is committed to performing as scheduled. In Seattle Opera’s history, no performances have been canceled due to weather conditions.

To find out if a performance is still being held as scheduled, please check the homepage of our website. If there is any change to the schedule it will be noted there. You may also call the ticket office at 206.389.7676. The voicemail will be updated if there are any changes to the schedule.

If there is significant snow, most likely the performance will still be held as scheduled. However, if you are unable to travel safely, Seattle Opera will allow patrons to exchange tickets into another upcoming performance of the same opera, subject to availability. If it is the closing night of the opera, we may allow exchanges into future operas. Please contact the ticket office for available options. You may also donate your ticket to Seattle Opera. You will be sent a donation receipt to use for your taxes.

All ticket sales are final. If you need to change your performance date for any reason, please contact the ticket office or use the online exchange form. Ticket exchanges are normally a benefit for Seattle Opera subscribers only, but single ticket exchanges may be allowed during periods of significant snow events. Exchanges for all patrons may be subject to an upgrade charge as seating prices vary by performance. There is no refund for downgrades.

Seattle Opera does not support the resale of tickets for profit. Seattle Opera reserves the right to revoke tickets for any person or entity that resells our tickets above the printed face value.
