Support the Mainstage
Did you know that ticket sales cover less than half of what it takes to bring you Seattle Opera's extraordinary productions? We rely on donations from patrons like you to meet the full cost of presenting opera. When you contribute to the Annual Fund or make a Planned Gift, your donation allows us to stage opera of the highest quality that you and our audience have come to expect.

Promote Learning & Engagement
The heart of Seattle Opera lies in our community, and we are dedicated to bringing opera to all through creative, experiential programming. Thanks to your generosity, Seattle Opera's learning and engagement programs continue to expand, reaching over 65,000 lives outside of McCaw Hall. Seattle Opera's world premiere commission, An American Dream, is a wonderful example of community-driven experiences created to culturally enrich the Pacific Northwest region. Your gifts help provide access to arts for all, including neighborhood and school programs in high poverty areas for arts lovers of all ages.

Donor Advised Funds
Make a gift through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is an increasingly popular charitable vehicle that provides flexibility in supporting your favorite causes with favorable tax benefits. If you have a DAF with Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or BNY Mellon: visit the DAF Direct Website to initiate your donation. If your DAF sponsor charity is not available through DAF Direct, contact your DAF sponsor financial institution to initiate your donation.
IRA CHARITABLE ROLLOVER
Individuals may begin taking distributions from their Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) as early as age 59½, but are required to begin taking them at age 73 if you turn 72 after 2022. Normally, these distributions are subject to income taxes. The IRA Charitable Rollover allows individuals age 70½ and older to donate up to $100,000 to Seattle Opera and other charitable organizations directly from their IRA, without treating the distribution as taxable income. In order to qualify, contributions must go directly to a public charity and be made from traditional IRAs or Roth IRAs.
We recommend that you contact your tax advisor, as we cannot provide individual tax recommendations.
