Sharing Digital Tickets

If you purchased tickets for a friend or large group, you can share those tickets with them. This way, if members of your group are running late or arriving at different times, you can enter the performance separately and ensure they can scan in later.

Here's how to share your digital tickets:

  1. Sign in at tickets.seattleopera.org and tap your upcoming event to view your tickets.
  2. Tap the green "Share" button above your tickets.
  3. Enter in the full name of the guest receiving your tickets and select the tickets you would like to share with them.
  4. Once you have confirmed your selection(s), press the "Share With Your Guest" button. You will be able to send your guest an invitation link through email, text message, or other messaging apps to accept their shared tickets.

Your recipient can access their shared digital tickets by signing in to tickets.seattleopera.org through the shared invitation link. If they do not already have a Seattle Opera account, they can create one by pressing the "Register a New Account" button at the bottom of the page after clicking the link you sent them.

If your guest has successfully received and accepted your shared ticket, you will see "Ticket accepted by [your guest's name]" appear on the ticket in your own account. If you need to re-send the invitation link, go back to tickets.seattleopera.org on your own account, tap on the desired performance, and press the green "Share This Invite Again" button. If you have shared a ticket but need to take it back from the recipient and access it yourself, press the green "Get This Ticket Back" button.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happened to Print-At-Home tickets?

All Print-At-Home tickets will be replaced by our new digital ticket delivery method. You will no longer receive an email containing PDF attachments of your tickets that you can print out to show at the door. You will only be able to access your new digital tickets by using your mobile device and logging in at tickets.seattleopera.org.

Why are you changing your digital tickets?

Like many performing arts organizations, we are facing increasing challenges due to ticket brokers. Ticket brokers cause problems for us and our customers by selling tickets at exorbitant prices or by selling fraudulent tickets. Our new digital tickets discourage ticket brokers with a dynamically changing, unique QR code that is scanned when you arrive at a show. By allowing only one scan per entry, any ticket broker's attempt to duplicate, alter, or resell copies of tickets will result in denied entry. This empowers our patrons to make a chargeback claim on fraudulent tickets. Our new digital ticketing method also offers a convenient option for patrons to add tickets to their Apple Wallet and prevents patrons from losing their tickets or searching through their inbox for the right email that has their ticket PDF attachments.

Why doesn't my QR code show up until right before the performance?

Your QR code will appear two hours before your performance as a deterrent to ticket brokers and fraudulent ticket resale. Since the QR code updates periodically, a screenshot or printout of the ticket will fail to scan at the door. Requiring a live, updating QR code to be scanned upon entry ensures that only one person at a time will have access to that ticket.

Can I print out my digital tickets or just take a screenshot of the QR code?

No. Your digital ticket contains a dynamic, constantly refreshing QR code that updates periodically. A static image from a printout or screenshot will not scan at the door

Do I need to download an app to get my tickets?

No app download required! Your digital tickets are available at tickets.seattleopera.org, which you can visit on any web browser on any mobile device as long as you have a data plan or Internet connection.

What if I have trouble accessing my tickets at the performance?

No problem! If your smartphone loses battery, you don't have a good signal, or something else goes wrong, Seattle Opera staff at McCaw Hall are happy to assist. If you are experiencing issues accessing your digital tickets, visit the Box Office on the ground floor of McCaw Hall and we will print out physical tickets for you.

What if I don't know my login information?

To access your digital tickets at tickets.seattleopera.org, use the same email address and password you use when purchasing tickets or logging in to My Account. If you have forgotten your password, you can log in without one by requesting an access code to be sent to your email address. In a few moments, an email containing a 6-digit access code will arrive in your inbox which can be used to log in and view your digital tickets.

I don't have a smartphone or tablet. How do I access my tickets?

If your tickets are set for digital delivery, you will need a device with Internet access to view your tickets and scan them at the door. If you do not have access to a mobile device, please contact Audience Services at 206.389.7676 or email tickets@seattleopera.org. We will be happy to mail you physical tickets or hold your tickets at will call instead. If needed, we can assist you in person on the day of your performance at the McCaw Hall Box Office.

Can I access my parking at tickets.seattleopera.org?

Yes! If you have purchased pre-paid parking for a mainstage performance and selected digital delivery, you will be able to access your parking pass through tickets.seattleopera.org. Once you have logged in, tap the "Parking Pass" event for your performance date to display the parking pass to be presented at the garage.

Can I add my digital tickets to my Apple Wallet?

Yes! If you are using an Apple device, visit tickets.seattleopera.org in your web browser, select your performance, and tap the black "Add to Apple Wallet" button on your ticket. Please note: if you have multiple tickets to one performance, you must add each ticket one-by-one to your Apple Wallet by swiping left or right and tapping the button on each individual ticket. You will then be able to access your digital tickets and QR codes to scan using the Wallet app on your device without having to return to tickets.seattleopera.org.

Can I just get printed tickets instead?

If you have chosen digital ticket delivery and would like to change to physical tickets instead, please contact Audience Services at 206.389.7676 or email tickets@seattleopera.org. We will be happy to mail you physical tickets or hold your tickets at will call instead. If needed, we can assist you in person on the day of your performance at the McCaw Hall Box Office.
