Donors at the Supporter ($500+) level and above are invited to a post-show Meet & Greet reception with the artists immediately following the recital with refreshments available. When eligible donors buy tickets for the recital, they will be automatically added to the post-show reception.
Soprano (Jackson, MS)Tiffany Townsend is a graduate of LA Opera's Young Artist Program, and has recently appeared with LA Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, and Long Beach Opera. In 2024/25, her first season as a Resident Artist, Townsend made her Seattle Opera debut as America Robinson in Jubilee. She covered Nedda in Pagliacci and will cover the title role in Tosca this May.
Baritone (Fredonia, NY)Michael J. Hawk is a graduate of LA Opera’s Young Artist Program, and has recently appeared with LA Opera, Santa Fe Opera, and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. He was a 2023/24 Resident Artist, as part of the inaugural cohort, and he sang in the 60th Anniversary Concert & Gala, covered Donner in Das Rheingold, and covered Figaro and performed as Fiorello in The Barber of Seville. In his second season as a 2024/25 Resident Artist, Hawk sang the roles of Silvio in Pagliacci and The Speaker/The Old Priest in The Magic Flute.
Piano (Portland, OR)David McDade first worked with Seattle Opera in 1995, accompanying rehearsals of Rigoletto and the Ring, and joined the staff full-time in 2002. As Head of Coach-Accompanists and Assistant Chorus Master, he plays for rehearsals and auditions, and is sometimes heard on celesta or piano in the pit with the orchestra. He regularly accompanies the local rounds of the Laffont Competition and is often heard in recital with Seattle Opera artists. McDade has been a vocalist, a French horn player, and a conductor.
