This set of instructions is about how to “like” a YouTube video on your phone, computer, or tablet and then watch it on your TV. You must have a YouTube or Google account and will need to be logged in to the same account in your YouTube app on both your TV and your phone/computer/laptop. If you have an account with Google or Gmail, those credentials will work even if you have never logged in to YouTube. (Don't have a YouTube or Google account? It is quick, easy and free to create one!)
1) Make sure you have an account with YouTube. Since Google owns YouTube, if you have a Gmail or Google account you will be able to use your email and password for that account. You must log in to YouTube on your computer and your TV app with this account. (Not sure how to download or log in to YouTube on your TV? Here are instructions to download the YouTube app for Roku, Amazon Fire Stick and Apple TV.)
2) From your computer, phone, or tablet, log in to your Seattle Opera My Account, and Once you have logged in to your account, if you have access to the subscriber performances you will scroll down to the blue block with the 2020 Fall Season heading, and you will see a button for "TEST VIDEO." Click or tap this button and it will automatically take you to YouTube and to the video.
3) Click or tap the thumbs up icon to "like" the video.
4) From your TV, open the YouTube app. Make sure you are logged in to the same account as when you liked the video on your other device.
5) In the navigation menu for YouTube on your TV go down to “Library” and select it. From there you should be able to see a playlist of “Liked Videos” and you should see the desired video there. Select it to play the video.
If you have questions, please contact Audience Services Monday–Friday 10 AM–6 PM at 206.389.7676 or tickets@seattleopera.org.
