February 21–March 1, 2026 at McCaw Hall
Set in 1950s Washington, D.C., recent college graduate Timothy Laughlin and State Department official Hawkins Fuller kindle a romantic relationship and face impossible choices as they struggle to survive the Lavender Scare. One of the most frequently performed contemporary operas, this "striking" (American Record Guide) opera with a "ravishing musical score" (Cincinatti Enquirer) makes its Seattle premiere.
