Frequently Asked Questions

There are a lot of package options. Which one should I choose?

We are excited to offer Create Your Own Packages and Flex Passes alongside our traditional Classic Package. Not sure which is right for you?

Classic Packages
This is the same subscriber option we have always offered. Choose your series by day of the week and you will enjoy the same seats performance after performance and season after season. Your performance dates may be pre-assigned, but you can still exchange into other performance dates as needed. This package is available with 3 or 4 operas and all available add-on performances and events. Plus, it offers patrons maximum savings and benefits, including free parking with a full-season package (up to a $160 value).

Create Your Own Packages
Mix and match dates, performances, and events to create a personalized package just for you. Choose any 3 or more performances or events available on any dates offered and you are ready to go. If seating location isn’t your top priority, and you want to try a mix of operas, classes, and recitals, this might be the option for you. Please note: we cannot guarantee the same seating location from performance to performance or season to season for Create Your Own Packages.

Flex Pass
Purchase 4 credits and redeem them when you want and how you want. 1 credit equals 1 ticket to any event, performance, or class at McCaw Hall or the Opera Center. You have a whole calendar year to use your Flex Pass credits. Flex Pass holders can request a seating section for their McCaw Hall performance, but all seating is at the discretion of management and based on availability. If you aren’t sure exactly what you want to experience or perhaps prefer to wait until the week of a performance to get tickets, then this is the option for you.

Still not sure which option to choose? Contact Audience Services Monday–Friday 10:00 AM–6:00 PM at 206.389.7676 or email at tickets@seattleopera.org.

How do I get free parking?

Renew or purchase any full-season Classic Package to receive free parking in Mercer Street Garage (up to a $160 value). You will be prompted to include free parking before you check out. Free parking is only available with Classic Packages until September 15, 2025.

CAN I PURCHASE PARKING AHEAD OF TIME?

If you purchase a Create Your Own Package or a Flex Pass, you will be able to purchase parking for your individual performance dates later in summer 2025. Make sure your email address is up to date in our database to ensure we can contact you as soon as parking is available for purchase.

Will there be safety protocols in place for performances?

COVID safety protocols for the 2025/26 season will evolve based on local transmission rates. Please review our safety page before every event and performance you attend at Seattle Opera for the latest updates.

Will you offer streaming options if I want to watch from home?

Streaming availability is negotiated with our union partners each season and we will know more by summer 2025.

Are 3-opera packages available?

Yes! 3-opera Classic Packages are available for The Pirates of PenzanceFellow Travelers, and Carmen. Other combinations of 3-opera packages are available as a Create Your Own Package. To renew an existing subscription into a Create Your Own package, log in to your account and follow the prompts for a Create Your Own Package. Under the seating request notes, please indicate if you would like to keep your current seats and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Please note: we may not be able to guarantee your seats will be the same every season if you choose a Create Your Own Package.

CAN I BUY SEASON TICKETS FOR LESS THAN $200?

Absolutely! Whether you are interested in a Classic Package (starting at $181) or a Create Your Own Package, there are multiple options under $200.

Under 40? Consider joining BRAVO!, our group for young patrons. Your $49 annual membership fee quickly pays for itself with season tickets at a 50% discount, free wine and coffee at intermission receptions, and invitations to parties all year.

Youth or Senior? Youth under 21 save 50% off single ticket prices when purchasing season tickets, and seniors get extra discounts too. Call Audience Services at 206.389.7676 for more information.

My schedule changes a lot. Should I still buy season tickets?

Yes! Whether you purchase a Classic Package, Create Your Own Package, or a Flex Pass, you can exchange your tickets for any other performance of the same opera with no fees. Just call us or request an exchange online any time after you receive your tickets and before 4:00 PM on the day of your performance (or 4:00 PM on Saturdays for Sunday matinees). There are no fees for ticket exchanges; however, upgrade charges may apply if you are changing to a more expensive day of the week or seat location.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?

You may cancel your entire package or any specific performance until October 1, 2025 and receive a refund or have the value of the tickets held on your Seattle Opera account. Any value held on your Seattle Opera account from 2025/26 subscription packages must be used by June 30, 2026. Seattle Opera will retain the $15 order fee. Notice of cancellation must be received in writing.

HOW DO I USE PAYMENT PLANS?

Convenient automatic payment plans allow you to spread your payments over several months, an option popular with our subscribers paying by credit card. It's flexible and free—no interest or additional service charges.

You can set up your interest-free payments when you order online or call Audience Services at 206.389.7676 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. At a minimum, your payment today must include $20 down. Payment plans may only be set up using a credit or debit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. We are only able to accept one credit card for this payment. The card must be valid through one month past the last scheduled payment. Your final payment must be scheduled at least two weeks prior to the start of the first opera in your season ticket package.

You may contact Audience Services at 206.389.7676 or tickets@seattleopera.org to change the arrangements of your payment plan at any time as long as your final payment is scheduled at least two weeks prior to the start of the first opera in your subscription. With our convenient automatic payment plan, there is no need to call or send back an invoice to us; your card will automatically be charged on the days set up for the payment plan.

If you select a payment plan, your season tickets will be mailed after your final payment is made.

I have a flex pass. Can I redeem credits for performances in the 2025/26 season now?

Flex Pass holders will be able to redeem credits for the 2025/26 season later this summer when single tickets go on sale to the public. Your pass is good for one year from purchase and can be used across seasons, so be sure to check out our offerings in the 2024/25 season and make sure you are receiving emails from us so you will be the first to know when redemptions begin in the 2025/26 season.

How Come my seats aren't the same for Daphne in concert?

There is only one Friday and one Sunday performance of Daphne in Concert. To include as many package holders as possible, we have combined select subscription series for this production. In some cases, we have had to adjust seating locations for select subscribers' performance of Daphne in Concert only. If we have reseated you, your seats for this performance are as close to your original subscription seats as possible. If you renew as is without requesting a change, you will be able to see your seat locations in your cart.

If I request a change, can I pick my new seats now?

If you request new seats or a new series, you will be able to select a new seating section, but not the exact location. Because we don't yet know who is renewing and which seats might become available, exact seat selection is not available until all change requests have been processed. Renewing subscribers' change requests are processed before new subscriber seat assignments, so renewing at this time assures you the best chance of receiving your first choice of new seats.
